Recipe for Molasses Crinkles Cookies

Type:   Dessert
Ingredients:   3/4 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
4 Tablespoons molasses
2 1/4 cups sifted flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ginger
Procedure:   Cream shortening, sugar, and egg. Add the molasses, flour, spices and baking soda.
(Dough will be quite stiff)
Chill.
Shape into walnut size balls. Roll in sugar.
Bake at 350º for about 8- 10 minutes.
Yields:   3 dozen
