Recipe for

Type:   Dessert
Ingredients:   1 c. SMOOTH peanut butter
1 c. unsalted butter (2 sticks)
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 lb. (16 oz) powdered sugar
Procedure:   Put peanut butter and butter into a microwavable bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and poke holes to vent. Microwave on HIGH 2:00. Carefully remove plastic wrap, stir. Replace wrap and microwave another 2:00 on HIGH. Remove cover carefully and stir. Add vanilla and sift in the powdered sugar. Stir with a WOODEN SPOON until the fudge forms a loose ball and/or loses its luster. Press into a greased or lined 8x8 square or 9" round cake pan and cover with wax paper. Store in the refrigerator.

3/4 cup of chopped nuts or chocolate chips may be added with the powdered sugar if desired.
Yields:   1 9-inch round or 8x8 square pan
