Recipe for Beef with Mushrooms and Red Wine Gravy

Type:   Dinner
Ingredients:   1 1/4 pounds well-trimmed beef stew meat
2 medium onion, cut into wedges
sliced fresh mushrooms
1 package onion soup mix
3 tablespoons cornstarch
salt and pepper
1 1/2 cups dry red wine
Procedure:   Place beef, onions, and mushrooms in a slow cooker. Add dry soup mix. Sprinkle with corn starch and salt and pepper. Pour wine over everything.
Cover and cook on low for 10 to 12 hours or on high for 5 to 6 hours.
Stir well before serving
Yields:   6 servings
