Recipe for Stuffed Mushrooms

Type:   Appetizer
Ingredients:   1 pound medium mushrooms
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/4 cup finely chopped green pepper
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1/4 teaspoon tumeric
salt, pepper
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
Procedure:   Heat oven to 350º.
Wash mushrooms and remove stems. Chop stems. Melt butter in pan. Add chopped stems, green pepper, and onion. Saute until tender...about five minutes
Add bread crumbs, thyme, tumeric, and salt and pepper. Mix.
Fill mushroom caps with stuffing mixture. Place in shallow baking dish. Dot dish with a little more margarine.
Bake 15 minutes.
Yields:   about 3 dozen
